About Us

We are an animal-friendly family of five. Over the years, we’ve loved three miniature schnauzers, a rescued golden retriever, a cockatiel, several lizards and three arabian horses (one was born on our property). The only time in our lives when we didn’t have a dog living with us was when we were in college. I was introduced to the Coton de Tulear at the home of a friend in California in 2002, and although I knew very little about the breed, I adored this affectionate, beautiful lap-dog who seemed to smile and entertain me without end. My friend became a breeder and in 2004, I was her first customer (actually, my skeptical husband purchased it for me as a birthday gift). When our golden retriever unexpectedly died, Zorro (our Coton) mourned and looked for him in every room of the house daily. His antidepressant came in the form of a small, black and white package of dynamite named Zacchaeus in 2005. Zhantilly joined us soon after our move to Texas in 2007. Zacchaeus is available for stud-service and produced 7 puppies in only one tie with his very first breeding!

We have 3 children and they are all animal-lovers as well. Our daughter has raised and trained 2 colts from birth and is on the equestrian team at her college, where she is currently in the process of applying to veterinary school. Our oldest son and his fiancé-to-be are in college and anxiously awaiting a puppy from our first litter. Our youngest is still at home and doles out affection to all 3 dogs regularly.

We make every effort to provide our dogs with community social skills, obedience training, exercise, and affection to develop them into enjoyable pets. They are health-tested yearly by our veterinarian with a blood panel and physical exam and they are screened for eye diseases by a CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation) veterinarian. The puppies will be sold under contract and it must be signed and returned before delivery. They will come with a health guarantee certifying they are free of genetic defects, joint dysplasia, and inheritable eye disease.

I am an active member of the American Coton Club (ACC) and am a Code of Ethics Breeder. Recently, I became a board member of the ACC. I have participated in Coton Play Dates in the California Bay Area and was able to attend a West Coast Coton Gathering last year in Southern California. I have trained and shown schnauzers in obedience and entered my first ARBA (American Rare Breed) conformation show in March 2007 winning 3 ribbons with Zhantilly.

As a family, we are committed to the Coton de Tulear, to reproducing offspring that are of excellent temperament, healthy, and to meeting the breed-standard. Your family will be heartstrung as well.

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.
